Opera Workshop

Spring 2006


Select students prepare and perform a variety of opera arias and scenes for small ensembles.

In addition to musical preparation, the course focuses on diction, acting, movement, and staging and culminates in a staged and costumed performance, showcasing the work of an opera or opera scenes.

Course is offered every other spring semester. Auditions for Opera Workshop 2008 are October 15, 2007 from 5:00 to 6:30 PM.

If you would like more information about how to be a part of Opera Workshop at Trevecca Nazarene University, please contact Dr. Renita Koehn
A prepared piece is not required to audition for one of the choral groups. 

If you are auditioning for an instrumental ensemble, please prepare one 30-second excerpt of a lyrical passage and one 30-second excerpt of a technical passage. 

If you are interested in Jazz Ensemble, please prepare an additional 30-second excerpt of a swing tune.

Ensembles are open to all students regardless of major.  The Madrigalians is not open to first-time freshmen, however there are a limited amount of openings for male singers if you are a transfer.
