Rachel Schmidt-Nyetam
Mezzo-Soprano

     Rachel Schmidt-Nyetam received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Vocal Performance from Anderson University and received her Master of Music degree from Belmont University with a double major in Vocal Pedagogy and Vocal Performance. While studying at Belmont Rachel had the privilege of studying at the Vanderbilt Voice Center under the tutelage of Dr. Mark Courey, Dr. Tom Cleveland, and Jenny Muckala.

     Rachel has enjoyed many opportunities to perform some of which include: The First Spirit in The Magic Flute, Meg March in Little Women, Fiametta in The Gondoliers, The Shepherdess in L’ Enfant et Les Sortileges, and Grace Ansley in Roman Fever.

     Mrs. Schmidt-Nyetam has held teaching positions at Belmont University, Belmont Family Academy, The Jam, and Kids on Stage. Currently Rachel is an adjunct professor of voice at Trevecca Nazarene University. She also maintains an active private studio at Shuff’s Music Studio in Franklin.

     Rachel is an energetic teacher who has a passion for helping singers discover their instrument, their craft and themselves. She desires to inspire her students to achieve excellence in all areas of life. She lives in Nashville with her husband Uriel Nyetam.
