The Trevecca Symphony Orchestra will present the eleventh annual Pops Concert under the Stars on Friday evening, August 29, at 7:30 P.M. in the McClurkan Quad (the central area of the campus). This concert, free and open to the public, is the first public event of the new school year, and it is an opportunity for the larger Trevecca Community to gather for an evening of music under the stars.
This years program, billed as An Evening of Inspiration and Remembrance, includes a mixture of music that evokes the emotions, including among others Fanfare and Processional on All Creatures of Our God and King, Fantasia on Greensleeves, The Lord of the Dance, the theme from Schindlers List, and the ever-popular finale Stars and Stripes Forever, conducted by a member of the audience.
The Trevecca Symphony Orchestra (TSO) is composed of Trevecca students and musicians from the Nashville community, and it is directed by Timothy Cierpke, professor of music. This fall pops concert is the first event in the TSOs regular schedule of concerts during the school year.
Bring a blanket or lawn chair (and a picnic dinner if you wish) and enjoy a relaxing and pleasant musical experience.
