University personnel part of mission trip to Bahamas

EverPraise, a public relations team from Trevecca, joined 300 other students and sponsors on a mission trip in the Bahamas. From the time of their departure on July 3 to the time of their return on July 10, representatives of Trevecca built relationships with prospective students on the southeast region for the Church of the Nazarene and worked to build a better community in Nassau. In the group were teens from the North Carolina, South Carolina, North Alabama, South Alabama, Tennessee, and East Tennessee districts of the Church of the Nazarene.

Trevecca representatives were Rick Underwood, assistant dean of enrollment management; Donna Underwood; Troy Grant, admissions counselor; Shelley Cook, admissions counselor; David Graham; members of EverPraiseóLindsay Haywood, Tim Tharp, Craig Huggins, Rachael Saner, Nick Robertson, and Krista Allred; Jim Hiatt, dean of the School of Business and Management; Jessica Shirer, 2004 graduate; and current students Josh Shirer, Jeff Dykes, Brett Garner, and Brandon Averett. The projects that the group worked on varied. They conducted Sunday morning worship with a local congregation, performed construction work, and worked in a vacation Bible school. Their final day in the islands was a time for experiencing the tourist side of the Bahamasówater activities, shopping, and sightseeing.
