Spiritual Renewal Week concludes

Dan Boone, speaker for Spiritual Renewal Week, visits with a student following the final chapel service of the week.
The annual Spiritual Renewal Week emphasis, September 28-30, concluded in the Thursday chapel service. The Rev. Dr. Dan Boone '74, pastor of the College Church of the Nazarene in Bourbonnais, Illinois, was the speaker.

In the five services of this special series, Dr. Boone invited listeners to view their relationship with God in terms of their five senses. Using a variety of teaching tools--from children's books to videos to candy--he captured the attention of listeners.

Boone summarized the theme of his sermon series with these words: "The Christian Scriptures tell us that God is interested in redeeming, sanctifying, and resurrecting the human body. We experience this activity of God through the senses. We see as Jesus sees. We hear what the Spirit says to the Church. We are the people who taste and see that God is good. Christianity is a sensual experience because God hallows human flesh."
