Homecoming 2004 begins on November 5 with Founder's Day Chapel with
Karen Dean Fry as guest speaker. Fry, a 1968 graduate of Trevecca,
currently serves as associate pastor at the Lamb's Church of the
Nazarene in New York City, but she is also known as a writer and
speaker. Among her published works are musicals for children's choirs,
including "The Late Great Potentate" and "Amazing Grace." She has
earned Dove Award nominations for her musicals. Additionally she has
contributed articles to many different publications.
Fry, a native of Florida, served on the pastoral staff of First Church
of the Nazarene. Known for her humor and for her insightful treatment
of Scripture, she is a popular retreat speaker.
Founder's Day Chapel is held annually at the beginning of homecoming
weekend. It is a time to remember the contributions of the Rev. J. O.
McClurkan, the founder of Trevecca.
