Trevecca senior wins "dream" internship

Billy Byler, Trevecca senior, has two loves--writing and sports. Those two loves came together in the internship that Billy landed when the new semester began. Billy learned that he had landed his "dream" internship--writing about sports for The Tennessean. He was assigned to write about Nashville's new basketball team, the Nashville Rhythm.  The January 13 edition of The Tennessean carried Billy's debut column. Readers who would like to read Billy's first column can visit

During his four years at Trevecca, Billy has managed to gain rich and varied experiences in both of his loves. For most of his four years he has been a student assistant in the Office of Sports Information, writing publications for that office and providing play-by-play for the women's basketball team's games. One year he edited the student newspaper, the Trevechoes, and after he ended that job, he continued to write a very popular column for that paper. After his sophomore year he earned an internship with Titans Radio and worked in the production studio when that station broadcast the games of the Nashville Titans.  His internship at The Tennessean is the culmination of a very successful college career for a student who has sought out those experiences that would prepare him for a career that will allow him to enjoy his two loves.
