Baseball Coach Jeff Forehand--TranSouth Coach of the Year

Jeff Forehand, Baseball Head Coach
For the second consecutive year Jeff Forehand, Trevecca's head baseball coach, has been named TranSouth Coach of the Year. In his fifth year at the helm of the Trevecca program, Forehand has a 163-121-1 career record at Trevecca. During his first year as head coach at Trevecca, the team posted a 15-40 season, but the records since that season have been much more impressive, producing a 148-81 record for the last four seasons. Prior to Forehand's arrival the program had had only one winning season since 1994. In 2002 the team produced a third-place finish in the conference and the most wins in a season since 1991. In 2004 Forehand led the team to its best record in school history when it reached No. 4 in the NAIA Top 25. In recognition of his successful efforts to turn around Trevecca's baseball program, Forehand was named 2004 Coach of the Year for both the TranSouth Athletic Conference and NAIA Region XI.

Forehand is known on campus as a caring member of the Trevecca Community. He has demonstrated personal interest in his players and their success. Under his leadership the team GPA has risen and eighteen players have earned their degrees. Additionally, he has raised funds for a $15,000 locker room renovation and $25,000 worth of improvements to Jackson Field.

Prior to coming to Trevecca Forehand let Goodpasture Christian School to three state baseball titles during his eight years as head coach. He was selected Tennessee State Coach of the Year three times. Prior to his Goodpasture service, he was an assistant coach at Montgomery Bell Academy. A graduate of Belmont University and Tennessee State University, Forehand and his wife, Karen, have two sons--Gant and Brooks.
