Trevecca hosts 4th annual Master's Teacher Educational Resource Conf.

Forty-one ministerial trainers from nine of the districts of the Southeastern Region gathered on Trevecca’s campus August 1-4 for the fourth annual Master’s Teacher Conference.  Led by faculty members from the Trevecca School of Religion, sessions covered nine of the twenty-four modules in the Course of Study for ordination in the Church of the Nazarene.  In addition, special sessions were held for new instructors and for district ministerial training coordinators.  According to Tim Green, dean of the Trevecca School of Religion, “The Southeastern Region is leading the way in innovative and effective training for ministers on our districts.  We have an outstanding group of district trainers who are committed to excellence in ministerial preparation.”  Districts throughout the Southeast are now beginning to dialogue of ways to coordinate training efforts among the various district trainers and training sites.  Not only was the week filled with engaging and lively dialogue but also outstanding fellowship.

Because of the effectiveness of the Master’s Teacher Program and the work being done on districts in the southeastern region, the Department of Clergy Services in the Church of the Nazarene arranged for two members from each of the faculty of the other U.S. Nazarene universities and the Nazarene Bible College to observe the program during the week.  A total of eighteen guests from the other campuses attended.  The newly-named director of Clergy Services, Dr. Daniel Copp, and Dr. Mike Vail of the International Course of Study Council, were also in attendance.
