Trevecca Nazarene University

Kearney-Logen-Davis concert to take place at Trevecca

Recording artist Mat Kearney will be joined by Michael Logen and Andy Davis in concert on September 23 on the campus of Trevecca Nazarene University.  The concert will start at 7 P.M.on the Quad.

After releasing his debut album last October, Mat Kearney took his music on the road with popular Christian artists Shane and Shane.  Kearney’s blend of Brit-pop rhythms and acoustic guitar riffs make him a perfect alternative to artists such as Coldplay and the less known Paul Wright.

Kearney recently signed on with major label Aware/Columbia Records, home of John Mayer, Train, and the Canadian band Five for Fighting.  Kearney’s debut album, released on Inpop Records, has received rave reviews for its artistic blend of genres, and its thoughtful lyrics that leave the listener fully aware of the power of pop music.

As a former youth pastor, Kearney is very humble about his musical talents. Collaborating with successful Christian artists such as the Katinas, Stacie Orrico, and ZOEgirl, Kearney has proven to the Christian music industry his worth.

Joining Kearney on stage will be Trevecca graduate Michael Logen. Logen started singing and playing the piano at age six and continued at Trevecca where he became a member of the Trevedores.

After recording an independent album for his senior project, Logen started touring.  He traveled with Curb Recording Artist, Plumb, and has worked with acclaimed producer Chris Farren. Logen’s solo debut was released in July of 2004.

Now after a European tour, Michael Logen is coming back to Nashville to open for Mat Kearney.  Logen’s acoustic rock will be backed by even more Trevecca graduates, such as crowd favorite Josh Taylor and Heath Attig. Also joining Kearney and Logen will be Andy Davis who performed at Trevecca in the past.

Tickets for this “concert of the year” can be purchased in advance by contacting Trevecca’s radio station, WNAZ, at 615-248-1397. Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door ($9 w/ Student ID). Call for group pricing.

The concert is being produced the Trevecca’s Student Governement Assembly under the direction of ASB President Jonathan Moore, ASB Director of Social Activities, Ryan Arnett, and Assistant Dean of Students for Community Life Michael Johnson. For general information about the concert, contact
