Concerto Competition announces winners

Congratulations to Chris Pennington, winner of the Trevecca Concerto Competition. Chris, a junior from Charleston, West Virginia,  is pursuing a bachelor’s degree of science in music business. He has been studying and playing percussion for nearly ten years and is currently studying in the studio of Scot Corey, private percussion instructor. Chris is preparing for a career as a recording engineer / producer  and as a studio drummer. He is a member of the Trevecca Symphony Orchestra and the Trevecca Percussion Ensemble. Chris will play his  winning musical  piece with Trevecca Symphony Orchestra at the orchestra's Classical Concert on October 20, 2005, in Tartar Student Activity Center on the Trevecca campus.

Congratulations also to Jennifer Harris also for placing second in the competition. Jennifer, a floutist, is majoring in business education. She is planning  for a career as a band director.

The Concerto Competition is an annual event at Trevecca, sponsored by the Division of Music. This year the competition was held on September 19.
