Representatives of the School of Education state that they are pleased to offer this new way to assist prospective teachers as they work to become assets in the national education system. This new program can be an area of concentration for education majors or an add-on program for students with multiple concentrations in their major.
“Special education is not a classroom of students who cannot be controlled. Special education is teaching by a different strategy than one would in a classroom that is not filled with children who have certifiably special needs,” said Ruth Cox, director of teacher education.
The program is set to launch in the fall of 2006. It follows last year’s new program, business education. For more information about either program, please contact Ruth Cox by calling 615-248-1390 or by e-mailing email@example.com.
