Softball team advances to top eight

After three wins and one loss in the 26th Annual NAIA National Softball Championship held in Decatur, AL over the weekend, Trevecca’s softball team has advanced to the final eight and will compete in a double-elimination tournament on Monday, May 22. After defeating the NAIA No. 4 and defending champion Simon Fraser University (B.C.) and Valley City State University (N.D.) on Friday, NAIA No. 10 Trevecca (46-13) fell to St. Gregory’s University (54-15) on Saturday in a highly anticipated pitching match-up. Trevecca bounced back to defeat Bethel (Tenn.) and advanced to the 8-team double-elimination tournament on Monday. Trevecca faces NAIA No. 6 Point Loma Nazarene University (44-15) on Monday at 11:30 A.M. Trevecca will play again at 4:30 P.M. on Monday regardless of the outcome of the game.
