At 8:30 A.M. Friday, August 25, residents halls opened and returning students and freshman began to move in the boxes and check-in for a new fall semester.
The weekend was marked by a series of events designed to welcome first-time freshmen, as well to integrate them into the Trevecca family. Events such as an introduction to academic life seminar helped students to practically prepare for college life, and events like the musician showcase offered opportunities for fun and fellowship. Meals were provided for students and their families, as parents were encouraged to attend many of the events throughout the weekend.
On Saturday, August 24 freshmen were able to register for fall classes. Registration for returning students occurred on Monday, August 26.
Classes began Tuesday, August 29, which also marked the opening chapel, led by University President Dan Boone, as well as the job fair that will offer opportunities for part time employment for students.
The Student Government Association has planned a “welcome week” of events to celebrate the new school year including a Hart Street Block Party, a dodgeball tournament, a movie in the quad, a Celebrity Skate Night, and a Back to School Bash. These events will occur to welcome back the Trevecca community throughout the remainder of the week.
