"Smoke on the Mountain"

The Department of Communication Studies proudly presents the opening of their fall musical, "Smoke on the Mountain," to be performed Thursday, Oct. 26, at 7:00 P.M.

One of the most widely produced musical shows today, “Smoke on the Mountain” mixes the style of a Broadway musical with the roof-raising story of a 1938 Saturday-night gospel revival in one rural Baptist church near Mount Pleasant up in the backwoods of North Carolina. The unpredictable Sanders family performs a mighty passel of hand-clappin’, foot-stompin’ country gospel songs sprinkled with testimonies from each of the family members.
