Alum Profile
The story, “Abbott at home at Nazarene Church,” features Abbott’s role as pastor of Macomb Nazarene Church and his involvement with the Nazarene church. A picture of the Nazarene denomination, as well as Abbott’s life, is painted within the article.
A young member of the U.S. Navy, Abbott had a conversion experience and answered a call to the ministry in 1964 during his service time just before being sent to Vietnam.
While attending Trevecca, Abbott thought he would return as a missionary to the area of his first military assignment in Italy. Later he found his ministry at home.
Abbott is quoted within the article: "My mission is to help the family to become healthier in the hope and health and faith that God offers."
Abbott and his wife Elizabeth (Savage), a 1967 alum, live in Macomb, IL.
