Trevecca Nazarene University

Associate provost and dean of enrollment management announced

Sam Green has been named Trevecca’s first associate provost and dean of enrollment management.

The announcement of his appointment was made today by President Dan Boone. Subject to the approval of the Board of Trustees, this appointment will complete the naming of the president’s cabinet.

Green brings a unique background and varied experiences to this new assignment. A 1987 graduate of Trevecca, he has served on the faculty and as chair of the division of music since 1998--during a time in which there has been a significant enrollment growth in the division. Prior to coming back to Trevecca, he taught math in the Metro Public Schools and completed a master’s degree in music from Belmont University and a doctorate in administration from Tennessee State University. The church has always been a part of his life. Raised as a “preacher’s kid,” Green has served as a minister of music at various Churches of the Nazarene in the Nashville area for the past 20 years. An ordained minister in the denomination, he currently serves as the pastor of worship at the Hermitage church. While a student at Trevecca, Sam was a member of the public relations group New Direction and served as an admissions counselor. Since 2003 he has been chair of the University’s Enrollment Management Council. He will officially move into this new role on January 1.

Assisting Green is Rick Underwood as director of undergraduate recruitment, Patty Cook as director of admissions, and a to-be-named director of graduate and adult recruitment.
