Donna G. Youree Associate Professor in the School of Education
Donna Youree calls herself a true teacher at heart and is committed to life-long learning. Teaching is a part of who she is.
Youree is in her third year at Trevecca as a full-time faculty member in the School of Education. She previously served as an adjunct professor for the department and has served as a classroom teacher and elementary school principal for 36 years prior.
Youree enjoys the unique opportunity to work directly with student teachers who are assigned to public school classrooms as part of the capstone experience of the licensure program. She also finds it rewarding to watching the students walk across the stage at graduation to receive their diplomas so full of hope and anticipation for the future.
“It is very fulfilling working with education majors who truly want to make a difference in the lives of children – especially those young educators who are committed to the at-risk learners,” Youree said.
Youree is glad to be where she is and feels that the spirit and commitment of service that is demonstrated by the faculty and students at Trevecca has truly influenced and strengthened her personal commitment of service to others.
