In Trevecca’s 66-54 win over Lyon College Trojan junior Mariska Reed surpassed the 1,000 career scoring mark.
The 2006 TranSouth All-Tournament team member reached the milestone during the win over the Pipers at Trevecca’s Moore Gym. Reed, who was honored with selection to the TranSouth All-Freshmen team in 2004-2005, opened the night just 7 points shy of the scoring milestone.
Reed, 5’10” guard from Nashville, Tenn., has scored 259 points on the season and is second on the team in scoring (13.6), rebounding (4.4), assists (57), and steals (44) on the season.
Reed now has 1,006 career points and has also been honored by the TranSouth as a Scholar Athlete, was named a Miss Basketball Finalist, and was a member of Ezell-Harding’s 2002 State Championship team.
The victory over Lyon also extended the Trojans team record for consecutive home which is now at 16.
