2007 TACA East-West All-Star Basketball Weekend

Annual Event Hosted by Trevecca Nazarene University

 Trevecca Nazarene University will host the 2007 Tennessee Athletic Coaches Association (TACA) East-West All-Star Basketball weekend. The annual games featuring the states top high school basketball talent will take place on Saturday, March 24, 2007 at 3:00 and 5:00 p.m. in Trevecca's Moore Gymnasium. Tickets for the contest are $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for children.

The boy's game will feature players including Keith Dodd of Bradley Central, David Barnes of Blackman, Coty Sensabaugh of Dobyns-Bennett, Justin Walker of Austin-East, Kit Carlton of Murfreesboro Oakland, Jewuan Long and Josh Sain of Liberty Tech, Gerald Robinson of Martin Luther King, Jamie Graham of Whites Creek, Nick Luttrell of Independence, Jordan Miller of White Station.

The girl's game will feature players including Kayla Hudson of Gleason, Gwen Delk of Northside, K.C. Van Atta of Mount Juliet, Kerri Simpson of Cleveland, Ashley Dean of Greeneville, Savannah Hill of Lincoln County, Whitney Parkey of Clairborne County, Annie Kelly of Centennial, Mandy Mendenhall of Harpeth, and Teena Carter of Milan.

Coaches for the West boy's team will be Dexter Williams of Liberty and Shane Sisco of Union City. Charlie Morgan of Dobyns Bennett and Don Dodgen of Farragut will coach the East boy's team. On the girls side Tony Shutes of the University of Jackson and Terry Clement of Lexington will coach the West girl's team and Rachael Moore of Columbia Central will coach the East girl's team.

"Trevecca is excited to be awarded this premier basketball event for high school seniors," said Trevecca women's coach Gary Van Atta. "We plan to make this a memorable event for the players, coaches and fans and look forward to hosting this event for years to come at Moore Gym."

One of the highlights of the weekend will be the FCA breakfast at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday. Jason Cline, a Westmoreland High School and Tennessee Tech graduate, will serve as the speaker for the breakfast. Cline is the Nashville/Middle Tennessee Fellowship of Christian Athletes Representative and was the FCA president while at Tennessee Tech. Cline has a Masters in Education Administration from Tennessee State University. Prior to joining the FCA staff in 2006, Cline coached high school football and taught matt for seven years. Jason and his wife Jamie live in Hendersonville and have one child, Kinley Rose, who was born in January. They attend First Baptist Church where Jason is a deacon and works with the Men’s Ministry.
