Trevecca Nazarene University

Middle Tennessee Teen Institute on campus

One of many outside groups finding a home at Trevecca this summer is the Middle Tennessee Teen Institute, which brings 100 teenagers on campus June 18-22.

The group is staying on campus in dorms and providing day activities within the University’s facilities. Day activities are coordinated with the organization’s mission in mind: The mission of Middle Tennessee Teen Institute is empowering the youth of Tennessee to lead by example and to take a proactive role in bringing about positive changes. MTTI empowers young people with skills, knowledge and attitudes they need to make healthy choices, build positive relationships and contribute to their schools and communities in meaningful ways.

Objectives:

To decrease the number of teens who use substances.
To Prevent onset of substance use.
           To increase one’s self-esteem.
To increase awareness of substance abuse related risk factors
