Once again, doctoral students enrolled in the school of education will come to campus for Trevecca’s Intensified Summer Learning Experience or ISLE, held June 22-30.
ISLE provides for nine days of serious study in two courses: a course in leadership and organizational behavior and a course in technology. Both classes have three levels, and all doctoral students are required to participate in the program for three summers and, thus, complete all three levels of both courses.
Each day from 8:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. the students will benefit from educational experiences and classes. In the evenings they enjoy socializing with fellow students. All participants are required to stay on campus in the dormitories. The program began in 1999 and in its eighth year, 99 students are set to participate.
Esther Swink and Alice Patterson have collaborated to provide the programming and socialization for the students. The professors who will teach the leadership courses this year are Dr. Gary Streit, Dr. Ruth Cox, Dr. George Kersey and Mrs. Judy King. The professors for the technology courses are Dr. Mindy Burch, Dr. Ed Anthony, and Dr. Robbie Melton.
