Athletic publications win awards

Trevecca’s athletic publications again won awards at this year’s annual meeting of
the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). Six publications from the Trevecca Nazarene University athletic department were honored during the Clarence “Ike” Pearson Awards Luncheon at the annual NAIA-SIDA (Sports Information Directors Association) Conference in San Diego, California.

For the second year in a row Trevecca’s athletic Web site was awarded a third best ranking among the nearly 300 NAIA schools. Trevecca’s men’s basketball media guide cover received the Best of the NAIA Award. In all, Trevecca’s athletic publications garnered four top-five finishes and another two finished in the top-ten. The softball and baseball media guides each were ranked fourth best, the men’s basketball finished ninth, and the women’s basketball guide was tenth overall.

Since entering their first NAIA-SIDA contest in 1999, TNU's sports publications have garnered 19 top-five finishes, 32 top-ten finishes, and three “best cover,” and another runner-up “best cover” award.

This year the production of the guides was led by Trevecca director of sports information Gregory Ruff. Graphic design was primarily provided by Marcos Salvi with photography by Gregory Ruff and Jake Young. Tim Shay, Stephanie Byler, Jake Young, Jonathan Moore, Tommy Byler, and David Tigabu provided editing, design, production, and writing assistance. Additionally, members of the  coaching staff of each sport contributed to the production of each media guide and the Web site.
