Trevecca’s campus entered the holiday season last night with a “Lighting of the Greens” celebration.
Danielle Queener, president of the Student Government Association and emcee for the event, welcomed the more than 150 persons gathered in McClurkan Quad for the event. With cookies and hot beverages, the group assembled around a 30-foot tall tree of lights.
The program included a reading of the Christmas story from the Gospel of Luke by Associate Dean of Students Michael Johnson. Music was provided by the Trevecca Low Bass Ensemble, directed by Professor David Diehl. Trevecca President Dan Boone recounted a favorite Christmas memory.
When it was time to light the lights, Jeff Ray, meteorologist for WKRN-Channel 2, assisted by his son did the honors, and the campus glowed with twinkling lights.
