Bring coats to this weekend's basketball games

The Trevecca women's basketball team finally gets to "warm-up” on the basketball court as they begin the December portion of their schedule. The team will play five games during the next 13 days.

It's only appropriate that the team will help others "keep warm" during the cold months ahead with a coat-drive during the Pops Duncan Classic. The team asks all fans to bring coats with them when they attend the Pops Duncan Classic (Friday, Dec. 7 and Saturday Dec. 8) this weekend. The team will take all donated coats to Goodwill for distribution.

"We hope Coats for Kids becomes an annual community service project," said women's basketball coach Gary Van Atta. "We want to collect coats for the local Goodwill agency, which distributes them to youth in Nashville area."

Collection boxes will be available in the lobby of Trevecca’s Moore Gym lobby to drop off coats during the Pops Duncan Classic this weekend.
