Alumnus Jason Adkins ’99 utilizes his Trevecca roots to provide leadership and training to young boys as he works with them in the greenhouse on Trevecca’s campus.
Adkins is the Farm Manager at the Family Foundation Fund, a mentoring program for boys from fatherless homes. Boys are introduced into the program at the age of 10 and remain throughout their adolescent years being nurtured by Christian men who become their surrogate father. Adkins works with the boys, teaching them organic gardening techniques. Each year they prepare for and cultivate a garden, supplying them with fresh organic vegetables to share with their families and the surrounding community.
