Swink nominated for ATHENA Award

Esther Swink, dean of the Trevecca's School of Education, has been nominated for the 2008 ATHENA Award. The ATHENA Award is considered Nashville's highest award of recognition for the achievements of professional women. This year thirty-six women's organizations from throughout the Middle Tennessee community are working together to Celebrate Nashville’s thirty ATHENA Nominees as well as determine the six dynamic and deserving women recipients of $21,000 in scholarships.

As part of this honor, Esther was invited to attend the ATHENA event on Thursday evening, March 27. Others attend for a donation of $50.00 to the ATHENA scholarship fund. The event is held at the Parthenon with reception at 6:00 P.M. and presentations at 7:00 P.M. You can register online at www.NashvilleATHENAAwards.org. Reservations are required by March 20.

Last year one of Trevecca's MHR students received one of the scholarships. Scholarships go to females in two categories- traditional undergraduates and older women in nontraditional programs.
