Trevecca Lights up the Night at Greer Stadium

The Trojan baseball team hosted a fun-filled Saturday evening at the Trevecca Lights up the Night at Greer Stadium event.

The Trojans wrapped up their regular season home schedule on Saturday, April 19, and many friends of Trevecca were there under the lights to cheer them on to a win. Greer Stadium is the home of the Nashville Sounds. The evening "under the lights" was designed raise awareness of the team's need for a lighted baseball field on campus.

Families and friends came, free of charge, for the evening baseball game atmosphere, the stadium food, give aways, games, and a free post-game concert.

Trevecca's Heritage Men's Chorale sang the national anthem before the game started. Paul Jones, sports director for Channel Fox-17, threw out the first pitch.
WORD music’s Lanae Hale and CircleSlide performed a free concert.

The weather on Saturday had been uncertain, with scattered showers throughout the day; however, by game time the skies were clear, and the sun was shining behind the clouds. Fans reported that it was a perfect night for a baseball game.

The Trojans' win against the Mid-Continent University Cougars
secured a third TranSouth Conference regular season conference title for Trevecca. The 30th win gives the program 30 wins for the sixth consecutive season. Now in its 38th season, the Trevecca baseball program has won 30 games in a season 13 times. The program has an all-time record of 983-811-10 and Coach Collins now has a record of 74-29-1 in his second season.
