Tennessee Titan speaks on campus

Tennessee Titans fullback/tight end Casey Cramer spoke at Trevecca on Thursday, April 24.

Casey came to speak at a Fellowship of Christian Athletes event and talked about his role with the Titans as well as his coming to faith story. He spoke about the ups and downs of NFL life, spending time to comment on the Pacman Jones controversy. Cramer quoted C.S. Lewis and Jeremiah 29:11. He encouraged students to realize that God has a plan.

In 2006, Cramer played in 15 games after being claimed off waivers (Carolina) by Titans on September 3. Cramer recorded a career-high two receptions for eight yards. On special teams he tied for fourth on the team with 15 special teams tackles, two fumble recoveries and blocked one punt. He was inactive one contest (11/12 against Baltimore).

• Named AFC Special Teams Player of Week after posting team-high three tackles on special teams, one fumble recovery and blocked punt at Washington (10/15).

• Entering his third season in the NFL, Cramer started his plan for life after football when he was a rookie. In three off-seasons, Cramer has attended three NFL Business Management and Entrepreneurial Programs at Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, Harvard Business School and Stanford Graduate School of Business. The Dartmouth alum has also interned with Wachovia (Charlotte) in the corporate investment department and in the broker retailer department (Nashville).

• A seventh round selection by the Buccaneers in the 2004 NFL Draft, Cramer doesn’t take anything for granted in the NFL and prides himself on staying grounded. Often ridiculed by teammates Cramer has maintained his 1999 Toyota Corolla with 110,000 miles instead of buying a luxury vehicle. Cramer says his priority is saving his finances and growing them with investments for the future.
