Trevecca Investment Club finishes in 4th

The Trevecca Investment Club has completed another stellar year of competition in the TVA Investment Challenge, placing fourth in a competition between 25 colleges and universities across the southeast. Funds for the competition are courtesy of the Tennessee Valley Authority. Some of the competing institutions include Vanderbilt University, University of Tennessee, University of Mississippi, and University of Kentucky.

For the year, TNU compiled a return of 10.66% compared to a return of 5.49% for the S&P 500. The 10.66% return placed TNU 10th in the competition for the year and moved them up to an impressive 4th place for the rolling three-year performance. For the three-year period ending on December 31, 2007, TNU has averaged an annual return of 12.31% compared to 8.62% for the S&P 500. Since TNU began competing in the competition on January 31, 2003, they have never finished outside the top half for any given year and have never finished worse than 7th place for any rolling three-year period. The TNU portfolio currently has a value of $439,951.
