Funeral for Trevecca trustee/alumnus

The University family was saddened by the death of an alumnus and trustee, James E. Hendershot on Tuesday, May 6, 2008. A member of the Trevecca Class of 1967, Jim had been a part of the first Trevedores Quartet during his college years. He was a State Farm Insurance agent and owner of Jim Hendershot State Farm Agency in Brentwood, Tenn., where he lived with his wife, Carla.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, May 9, at 2 P.M., in the main sanctuary of First Church of the Nazarene in Nashville, 510 Woodland Street. Visitation will be Thursday, May 8, from 1 P.M. to 8 P.M. in the commons area of the church at the Woodland Street entrance. The family will also receive friends on Friday from noon to the time of the service at 2 P.M.

Jim and Carla Hendershot have two daughters--Kellye (Marc) Stelling and Allison (Lewis) Stark--and  eight grandchildren. The family has asked that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the Jim Hendershot Memorial Scholarship Fund at Trevecca Nazarene University.
