First week of classes celebrated!

Trevecca celebrated the first week of classes with many Welcome Week events for students which were planned by Trevecca's student government.

This year's featured event was a Monday night concert with Jon Foreman, frontman for the band Switchfoot. The concert brought out over 900 students and local fans. Other events included a Hart Street Hoedown, held Tuesday, Aug. 25, complete with hayrides, a petting zoo, a costume contest, and a mechanical bull. Wednesday was a late night dodgeball tournament. Thursday was Purple Pandemonium and Giant Pizza Night, and the student body came in full support of the Trojan Volleyball team's first home game. Friday, Aug. 29, was Celebrity Skate Night at Brentwood Skate Center; students came ready to roller-skate dressed as their favorite celebrity or character. A giant Slip-n-slide was held on Trevecca's campus on Saturday. Later that night, University President Dan Boone hosted a movie "Dan in Real Life" on his lawn to conclude the week's flurry of activity.
