Student selected for Academy of Preachers

Freshman C.J. Childs, was selected as one of 16 preachers from around the country selected to attend the Academy of Preachers program, a nonprofit funded by the Indiana-based Lilly Endowment. Lilly Endowment is a private philanthropic foundation that supports religion, education and community development.

Child was selected for the pilot of the program which is intended to mentor young people considering the ministry and is created with the young clergy shortage in mind. She is also one of four that was chosen from Nashville.
