Trevecca student accompanies local school to Presidential Inauguration
Trevecca student, Alaina Yates traveled to Washington, D.C., last week as a student teacher with the Antioch High School Ensemble and Show Choir that performed for the Inaugural Heritage Festival.
Yates, a music education major, is now completing her student teaching requirement for graduation. She currently works with AntiochHigh School choir director Connie McCain. Antioch had been invited to take part in the Inaugural Heritage Festival, a choral and instrumental competition that takes place every four years during the Inaugural weekend. Yates was the group’s accompanist during the performance.
AntiochHigh School did a complete tour of Washington, D.C. which included attending the Inauguration. “It was a very rewarding experience,” said Yates. “It was extremely historic to be there in attendance at this specific inauguration.”
In total, the group spent five days and four nights in Washington, D.C.
