MEN'S BASKETBALL: Harris, Elliott Named NAIA Scholar-Athlete
The 2008-09 NAIA Division I Women's Basketball Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes have been announced with 120 student-athletes recognized. Trevecca placed two players, Matthew Elliott and Christopher Harris, on the team.
Christopher Harris makes the NAIA Scholar-Athlete team for the second year in a row. He has achieved TranSouth Scholar-Athlete status for three consecutive seasons. In his first year of eligibility, Elliott joins the NAIA Scholar-Athlete team. He was recently named to the TranSouth Scholar-Athlete team for the second year in a row.
In order to be a recipient of the Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete award, one must fulfill these requirements: the recipient must be a junior or above in academic standing; has been in attendance at the nominating institution a minimum of one full year of attendance; has a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.50 (on a 4.0 scale) at the time of nomination at the nominating institution; has been certified as eligible.

Casey Attebery has achieved the NAIA status for the second consecutive year and is now a three-time member of the TranSouth Scholar-Athlete team. Casey Pigue is making the NAIA team for the first time and is now a two-time member of the TranSouth Scholar-Athlete team.

Trevecca and
Trevecca took the head-to-head battle and the individual medalist award. The Trojans shot a school-record 289 (+1) while Martin Methodist shot a 301 (+13).
