“It is an honor for me to be selected as the new head men's soccer coach at Trevecca,” said Leavy. “I am thankful to Dr. Boone and Dr. Patterson for offering me this position. This great privilege, to coach and teach at such a well respected Christian university, offers me an opportunity to continue sharing my passion for the game of soccer and to integrate my faith into this sport. We plan to move forward with the great work already provided to this relatively new program by Coach Jeff Carr. Our hope is to build upon his labor over the last five years and to build a team that competes for the conference championship every season. If we do that, we know we’ll be a nationally recognized program.”
Trevecca Nazarene University Director of Athletics Brenda Patterson said, “I am very excited to have Danny as our new men’s soccer coach. Danny understands the importance of having an athletic program that embraces the mission of the University. Danny’s coaching and playing experiences coupled with his energy level will help him build on the foundation that Coach Carr has established.”
Trevecca had a men’s soccer program for one season during the 1991-1992 school year. Jon Curtis coached the team that season. Trevecca hired Stan Herod to bring back men’s soccer for the 2000-2001 school year. Herod led the program for four seasons prior to Jeff Carr.
