Trevecca’s freshman leap groups spent a day at the beginning of the semester in service projects in and around the Nashville community.
On Monday, August 31, approximately 250 freshmen volunteered at community gardens, public schools, churches, community organizations, and local natural areas.
One of these groups worked in the nearby Brown’s Creek. According to the office of Metro Beautification, one group pulled 183 tires, 127 bags of trash, and filled two rolloff dumpsters with bulk trash, including five bicycle frames, and one safe from the creek.
In addition, one of the groups returned the following Saturday to complete the painting of the Morning Star Baptist hallway.
The office of Metro Beautification was thrilled with the work done in the neighborhood.
