Thrasher retires after 43 years
The University honored her with a reception on September 3, exactly 50 years—to the day—since she arrived on Trevecca’s campus as a freshman in 1959. Ray began her association with Trevecca’s library as a student worker, eventually becoming director of library services.
She was instrumental in the construction of Waggoner Library, which opened in 2000. She retired from the director’s position in 2001 in order to spend more time with her husband, whose health was failing. Trevecca’s Board of Trustees awarded her emeritus status in recognition of her service to Trevecca.
