DECATUR, Ala. - The Trevecca Trojan softball team (42-15) had an easy time of it in their opening game of the 30th Annual NAIA National Tournament in Decatur, Ala. today, knocking off Savannah College of Art & Design (35-16) 13-3.
The Bees actually scored first, putting a run on the board in the bottom of the first inning courtesy of a couple of walks and a wild pitch. But the Trojans quickly answered, scoring six runs in the top of the second inning on a 2-run homer by Lauren Baker, a 3-run double by Monica West, and an RBI double by Anais Puertas. The Trojans added four more runs in the fifth inning, two on SCAD errors, and two more on a double by Megan Hemmingsen.
