The award is based on a point system that awards each school for their finishes in each of the possible 13 sponsored TranSouth sports. Each team earns points for their finishing position, the higher the finish, the more points the school earns. The totals are then divided by the number of sports in which the school participates.
Sports must have at least four school sponsored teams to count toward the total. Team(s) gain one bonus point for participating in all 13 conference sponsored sports. Sports not having at least four teams participating will not count as a conference sport and therefore, not count in the totals. Schools must sponsor a minimum of six (6) sports to be eligible for the All Sports Trophy. In case of a tie, the points will be added and divided between affected teams. Example: Two teams tie for 2nd in a seven team sport. Add 6 and 5 together equaling 11. Divide 11 by 2, so both teams get 5.5 points.
If a sport didn't produce regular season standings, then the tournament results were counted.
