A group of Trevecca students with TAG (Trevecca Around the Globe) recently traveled to Peru to serve and minister to the people there. The following is a second update of their time in Peru.
Some of the many activities of the last week included the following. The group visited a women’s jail and some students planted trees in the neighborhood of Trevecca’s adopted Nazarene Church. The group handed out water to the needy and planned a children’s festival also in that neighborhood. At night they showed the Jesus film to the people there.
On Friday the group publicized for the upcoming activities and handed out flyers. About 300 Nazarene Volunteers were needed to make that event happen.
On Saturday more than 10,000 people came and they were offered various programs. About 5,000-6,000 people gave their lives to Jesus that evening.
Sunday was filled with a Celebration Service to thank God for what He had done that past day.
The group is resting today, Monday, June 21, and will finish cleaning up from that event. They will make their way back to the U. S. on Wednesday, June 23.
