Trevecca Nazarene University

Croatia Teamís journey begins

It is happening right now. The dream of 5 Trevecca graduates, born in a missions class with Professor Kathy Mowry, requiring funding of over $50,000, and occupying the next 2 years is becoming a reality.

At 12:10 PM on September 1, 2010, a plane carrying the Croatia team lifted off from Nashville. About 20 hours later they arrived in Croatia to begin this adventure in mission.

Professor Kathy Mowry was there at the airport to see the team off on their journey.

“I left the airport with a real sense that this is life at its finest,” said Mowry. “To watch our investment over the last 4 years walk with confidence into such a Kingdom adventure gave me great joy. I’m proud to be part of the Trevecca community today.”

The team will be sharing their journey often throughout the year through their blog.  You can find it at

University President Dan Boone is proud of the team and thankful for the Trevecca community who has believed in the students and given them a place to be formed for Christ’s work.

“This generation of students at Trevecca is ready to take on the world,” said Boone. “This is the church at work educating for the sake of the kingdom.”

Mowry also offers words of thanks: “Thanks to all of you who have supported them and helped us get to this moment. Please pray now as they travel and continue to pray through their early days of learning language and meeting people in Zagreb.”
