Technology upgrades on campus

Throughout the summer, Trevecca’s Information Technology Services team installed significant technology upgrades around campus.

Boone Convocation Center—A brand new concert quality sound system has been installed in the Convocation Center.  While the existing conference system is still accessible and functioning for most speaking events, the new concert system is available to exceptionally showcase any campus band or visiting concert.  The addition of this new system will allow Trevecca opportunity to better educate students using modern sound technology and to host a variety of larger, more intensive performances.

Classrooms—Teacher workstations which allow for audio/visual interactivity in several Boone Business Building classrooms and in Greathouse 101 have been completely re-programmed and updated.

Conference rooms—As an ongoing project, the conference rooms across campus are being upgraded similar to the one in the Center for Leadership, Calling, and Service (newly remodeled Bud Robinson Building).  Each conference room will be able to display presentations from a laptop or view a DVD.  The Presidents, Jasper White, and Mackey conference rooms have been completed so far.

“We hope these upgrades will benefit classroom instruction, events, and assist in possible future planning,” said Scott Creel, Trevecca’s chief information officer.
