Trevecca Legacy Partners sponsor Fall Celebration & Trevecca Showcase
On Friday, October 15, Trevecca Nazarene University began a new tradition for senior adults with its first Fall Celebration and Trevecca Showcase. More than 385 senior adults participated, and many in the group said they had never visited Trevecca before.
Moody and Nina Gunter, Trevecca ambassadors, led the planning for the event and served as hosts. The day's program included a welcome from Trevecca President Dan Boone, reports from two current students about Trevecca's impact on their lives, and music by Trevecca's Gospel Choir and one of its music ministry teams, EverPraise. The Speers and Allison Durham Speer provided special music, and alumnus Jim Van Hook was the special speaker for the day.
Participants came from 10 of the 12 Church of the Nazarene districts in the Southeast; many were part of church senior adult groups who made the event part of their fall trip. In addition to the program (described above), guests enjoyed a continental breakfast, lunch, afternoon refreshments, and campus tours.
"This first event exceeded our expectations," said the Gunters. "The connection of senior adults with Trevecca resulted in expressions of deeper appreciation and support. The interaction of more than 100 students with the senior adults affirmed support and a healthy relationship for the future. The program participants brought honor to God and to the University in their presentations."
