Sale of WENO radio station

Nashville, TN (October 29, 2010)—Trevecca Nazarene University of Nashville has agreed to sell the assets of WENO 760. The buyer is Russ Jones of Anchor Broadcasting, specializing in both Hispanic and urban gospel radio. Anchor Broadcasting is currently leasing 1240 AM in Nashville from Davidson Media Group.

David Caldwell, Trevecca’s executive vice president for administration and finance, expressed the University’s Pleasure about this sale: “When Trevecca decided to sell after many years of operating WENO as a commercial station for the benefit of our radio broadcast major we were pleased to work with John Pierce and to sell to Anchor Broadcasting who will use the broadcast signal for gospel music.”

The agreed upon purchase price is $335k cash and WENO will most likely have an urban gospel format.
