Center for Social Justice hosts a 1-day intensive seminar

Trevecca’s J. V. Morsch Center for Social Justice partnered with the Christian Community Development Association and Nazarene Compassionate Ministries USA/Canada to host a 1-day intensive seminar on Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011.

The theme of the conference was “Relocation.”

“Jesus relocated. He didn’t commute to earth one day a week and shoot back up to heaven. He left His throne and became one of us so that we might see the life of God revealed in Him.” -John Perkins, 1982

Andy Bales, CEO, Union Rescue Mission, Los Angeles and CCDA Board Member, spoke on this theme, referencing Christ’s commitment to “relocate” to our world as "incarnational ministry." The group explored both theological and practical aspects of living among the poor, and provided students an opportunity to dialogue about the benefits and challenges of incarnational living.
