The event included a Creation Care Concert on Monday night, featuring a performance by Alex Mejias, of High Street Hymns. Alexei Laushkin, editor of Creation Care Magazine, also shared a short message.
On Tuesday morning, University Presdient Dan Boone hosted a special breakfast focused on creation care in the ministry, inviting local pastors and ministry workers. Trevecca’s special Creation Care Chapel service was held at 9:30 AM that morning, and the entire Trevecca community was invited to worship with Mejias providing music and Laushkin providing a creation care talk. A panel discussion followed chapel. Honored guests/ speakers, in addition to Mejias and Laushkin, included Matthew and Nancy Sleeth of Blessed Earth; Mitch Hescox, The Prayer Walking Evangelist; and Lowell Bliss, The Environmental Missionary.
Many of this group then attended a Creation Care Luncheon at Merchants Restaurant in Downtown Nashville. There, multiple Nashville environmental and faith-based organizations came together with leaders in the music industry to discuss the important role of the arts in understanding and promoting creation care. Organizations involved included Food for the Hungry, Blood Water Mission, The Evangelical Environmental Network, The National Association of Evangelicals, and Blessed Earth.
