Trevecca media guides win again

Trevecca received four (4) publication awards at the 2012 National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics-Sports Information Directors Association (NAIA-SIDA) workshop, held June 22, 2012, at Harris Stowe University in St. Louis, Mo. The NAIA has nearly 300 member schools which compete in the publication contests.

Trevecca also received a citation for the 2011-2012 women’s soccer guide from the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). The awards were presented during the organization's 55th annual convention, June 24, in St. Louis, Mo. Trevecca earned a fourth-place finish in the CoSIDA women’s soccer college division contest. The college division includes NCAA Division-ll, NCAA Division-lll, and NAIA schools.

Trevecca took the top honor in NAIA-SIDA softball media guide contest and earned a top five in another contest while bringing home two more top-10 honors. The 2012 baseball guide was selected fifth, the women’s soccer guide was sixth, and the women’s basketball guide was seventh.

The Trojans' staff of Gregory Ruff, Steve Ulrey, Rick Hill, Trevor Lubiens, and Melissa Jackson earned a top-7 or better finish in five (5) different categories for publications created in the 2010-2011 academic year.

The publications are judged by sports information directors, media members, and design experts from across the country.

Since entering its first contest in 1999, Trevecca has achieved the following record for its sports publications: 30 top-five finishes, 55 top-10 finishes, 11 "best cover" awards, and a runner-up "best cover" award. Trevecca’s athletic website has been rated in the top-10 in several contests and rated as high as No. 3 on two occasions.

This year the production of the guides was managed by Trevecca director of sports information Gregory Ruff and sports information assistant Stephen Ulrey. Photography was supplied by Elizabeth Streight, Gregory Ruff, and Micah Kandros, with editing provided by Stephan Ulrey and Jan Greathouse. Cover designs and interior design came from Rick Hill, The A-Group, and Micah Kandros, with interior design assistance from Gregory Ruff. In addition, each coach contributed to the production of his or her respective media guide and area of the website.
