Trevecca visited by SACS team

As part of its ten-year reaffirmation process with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), Trevecca hosted a 10-member team of educators March 18 through 21. Sent by SACS, this team reviewed the University’s reaffirmation application with the related documents and met with faculty and students in order to gain direct evidence of Trevecca’s efforts to meet SACS standards.

Associate Provost Carol Maxson reported that the visit was a very positive one and that in the exit interview the ream was “extremely positive about Trevecca’s mission, focus, personnel, and processes.” She noted that team members were very complimentary of Trevecca’s response to SACS’ new requirement for each school to implement a quality enhancement plan (QEP); Trevecca’s QEP is a new program to expand undergraduate research in all disciplines.
The visiting team will report its findings to SACS, and then, in December at its annual meeting, SACS will announce if Trevecca’s accreditation will be reaffirmed for another 10-year period.
