Trevecca Nazarene University

Summer orientation for incoming freshmen and new transfers

The campus will welcome new students to summer orientation on Friday, June 14, 2013. On Friday and Saturday, incoming freshmen and transfer students who registered to be part of summer orientation and their parents will have opportunities to become acquainted with Trevecca. This event helps incoming freshmen become acquainted with the other members of their Trevecca Class of 2017.

Designed to give incoming students a way to get to know Trevecca before they actually begin class, orientation includes these information sessions: introductions to Trevecca personnel, campus life, and one’s LEAP Group; Q&A with current students for transfer students; Q&A with President Boone for parents; and an introduction to academic life. Balancing the information session are activities that are planned purely for fun and for helping new students get to know each other—Trevecca INSIDE OUT, an event designed to immerse new students in Trevecca—student government, clubs, organizations, and the people who work in those roles; Blow Up Boone, time to bounce and play on inflatables; and Cinema under the Stars, an outdoor movie in the Quad.

Before students leave on Saturday, they will have the opportunity to register for their classes for the fall semester and to choose a roommate and sign up for their dorm room.

Registration begins and residence hall check-in for participants open at 8 AM and continue until 12:45. Special orientation sessions for music students and athletes take place on Friday morning, and placement testing for transfer students takes place from 11 AM to 1 PM. The kick-off event starts at 1 PM.

The next orientation for incoming freshmen will be August 23-24 (Friday and Saturday). Anyone interested in being part of that event should contact the Office of Admissions, 615-248-1320.
